Armstrong Fluid Technology has introduced new versions of the popular Astro 2 Hot Water Recirculation (HWR) pumps. A hot water recirculation system can save a typical family over 12,000 gallons of water per year by eliminating the waste of water that occurs when occupants open a hot water faucet and have to wait for hot water to reach the fixture.
Astro 2 HWR circulators are suitable for use in a 3-pipe installation with a dedicated return. The Astro Express 2 System includes the innovative Astro Express LF Valve and is designed for use in a standard residential 2-pipe installation.

Typically, access to information is not the problem. The latest BMS technology provides sophisticated data collection and display, with the ability to manipulate data to create statistical reports. The difficulty is how to take the next step - tackling the environmental performance of the building with practical measures (that do not require complete replacement of existing HVAC plant).

However, while simple in concept, most air handling systems are dynamically complex and highly interactive. A disturbance in one element can ripple out and affect the stability and viability of the entire system and the utility systems serving the air handling unit. In some cases, these issues manifest themselves in a manner that demands correction; tenants complain, product quality becomes substandard, or in extreme cases, the area serves becomes un-inhabitable.
