Armstrong Fluid Technology has announced an addition to its senior leadership team with the appointment of Alex Brunner in the newly created role of Director, Sales EMEA, India, Asia and Latin America.

Armstrong Fluid Technology pumps and controls for chilled water systems have been installed in Masdar City, the sustainable city under construction in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The new parallel sensorless pump controller by Armstrong Fluid Technology (AFT) coordinates the operation of up to four Armstrong variable speed pumps to offer what the company claims is superior energy efficiency at a reduced first installed cost.

Armstrong Fluid Technology announced the launch of its Planet Proposition corporate sustainability initiative in June with an event at The Crystal. Members of the company’s senior leadership team introduced the initiative at a press reception, followed by an awards ceremony for the company’s first community project. Finalists in a competition for Key Stage 2 children in schools local to the company’s two UK factories (in Manchester and the West Midlands) gathered to receive their prizes and find out the name of the overall winner.

Fluid solution provider, Armstrong, has opened a new London sales office, to enhance local services for customers in the capital and to provide a base for its expanding Energy Services Team.

With the growing demand in London for energy audit and efficiency upgrade services, Armstrong has decided to create a dedicated site. The new office is at 10 Fitzroy Square W1T 5HP, near Euston mainline station and the Warren Street, Euston Square, and Great Portland Street tube stations. It creates a focal point for the Energy Services Team (which has a national remit).

Armstrong Design Envelope Intelligent Variable Speed (IVS) pumps are aimed at the heating and cooling system market. It integrates vertical in-line pump, motor, and intelligent variable speed controller.

Quadrant, Regent Street, forms part of one of the most ambitious projects seen in the West End. It involves the conversion of the Grade II listed Regent Palace Hotel in Piccadilly, to create a mix of office, retail, residential and restaurant space around a central atrium. Originally built for J Lyons & Co in 1915, the hotel (with 1,000 rooms) was the largest hotel in Europe at the time.To keep aspects of its architectural heritage, three of the corner pavilions which make up the hotel’s original façade will be retained, and significant sections of the exquisite Art Deco interiors will be restored and reinstated.

When it came to choosing an HVAC system for a prestigious European development project, the contractors had to obtain low carbon, highly energy efficient equipment, and to make optimum use of space at this central London site. The space-saving features of the HVAC equipment manufacturer Armstrong were particularly valuable for this project.
