Armstrong Fluid Technology has unveiled an innovative pump selection software program that is completely intuitive, easy-to-use, highly visual, and provides an excellent user experience on multiple devices and platforms. Based on extensive Voice-of-the-Customer research, ADEPT makes it easy for users to select a wide range of equipment as well as organize schedules, and source submittals, and specifications.

Intuitive screen designs allow users to view line drawings, multi-curves, photos, voltage, motor size, inlets, outlets, accessories, seal operating limits, seal options, construction options and more than a dozen motor options.  ADEPT then lists the pumps that meet the users’ specific criteria, as well as the key characteristics of each selection – such as ‘efficiency at average load’, ‘operating costs’ and ‘motor size’.

VIL pumps and design envelope technology reduce energy use and cool Toronto’s downtown.

By Brent Ross, Armstrong Fluid Technology

Deep lake water cooling (DLWC) is a groundbreaking cooling system that provides an alternative to conventional air conditioning. The system uses cold water from Lake Ontario to cool buildings in Toronto’s downtown core. The DLWC system has enough capacity to cool 3 million square meters (32 million square feet) of building space and is the largest renewable, lake-source cooling system of its kind in North America.

High-efficiency wet-rotor circulator

Posted by Armstrong Fluid Technology on Nov 11, 2013 2:45:49 PM

As seen in Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration NEWS - November 11, 2013

The new COMPASS circulator helps contractors and wholesalers with easy selection, fast installation, and extremely broad performance capabilities for application to a wide variety of installations, the company said. The circulator features Design Envelope technology. The circulator also helps homeowners reduce energy consumption and operating costs. In “Auto” mode — one of eight operating modes available for selection — the circulator adjusts its operating speed to match HVAC demand at any given moment. Over time, the circulator
learns a system’s patterns of demand and appropriately adjusts output to reduce energy usage even more. According to the manufacturer, the circulators are suited to applications requiring up to 20 gpm and 20 feet of pressure.
