A new pump controller has been launched by Armstrong Fluid Technology.
Developers of the IPS 4000 say pump performance will be improved while it presents opportunities for energy savings in both new build projects and refurbishments as capacity is automatically matched with changing building demand.
Designed to control multiple secondary pumps for HVAC systems in both heating and cooling applications, the IPS 4000 can control up to six variable speed pumps in parallel or standby configurations covering up to 12 zones.
It is also suitable for installation in new HVAC systems or for retrofit in existing sites and can operate with or without a building management system.
Armstrong says a key opportunity for energy savings involves coupling the IPS 4000 with its Design Envelope pumps.
As the IPS 4000 is a pre-engineered product, the company claims it avoids the costs and programming associated with bespoke control options.
