New fire pump model introduced with lifecycle tracking technology

Armstrong Fluid Technology has announced the launch of a new 750gpm 5x4x10PF Vertical-In-Line fire pump model in the United States.

The company stated that this model includes its Design Envelope technology, which provides performance tracking, integrated alerts and remote monitoring.

According to Armstrong Fluid Technology, the pump’s startup sequence avoids pressure spikes by gradually increasing output, helping to prevent water hammer and reduce mechanical stress on pipes.

The company added that the pump design also reduces installation requirements for electrical cabling and removes the need for pressure reducing valves and drain lines.

Michael DeMille, Global Offering Manager Fire Pumps at Armstrong, said: “This new size of Vertical In-Line fire pump offers excellent performance in a key range of flow and pressure output.

“This new size of Vertical In-Line fire pump offers excellent performance in a key range of flow and pressure output.

“And with the addition of Design Envelope technology, customers can enjoy the security of performance tracking throughout the lifecycle of the pump.”

Fire pump includes features for improved safety and efficiency

Armstrong Fluid Technology reported that the 750gpm fire pump was engineered to simplify installation and reduce risks associated with high supply pressures.

The manufacturer explained that safety issues linked to pressure variability can be mitigated through controlled pump startup and built-in monitoring features.

It also noted that the elimination of external pressure reducing valves and drain lines can lower both material costs and labor time during setup.

The company said that performance tracking technology integrated into the Design Envelope system helps ensure consistent water delivery.

It highlighted that the pump is intended for applications where maintaining steady pressure and minimizing hydraulic stress are critical to building protection.

Armstrong targets design engineers and contractors with new model

According to Armstrong Fluid Technology, the 750gpm pump is positioned to offer value across multiple sectors by addressing common challenges in pump specification and system commissioning.

It stated that by reducing the complexity of cabling and external pressure regulation, the new fire pump model could reduce project costs for contractors and building owners.

The company added that the unit’s monitoring capabilities are designed to support proactive maintenance strategies, particularly for large facilities where system downtime can have safety or financial consequences.

Michael DeMille said the company’s objective with the new model was to provide a solution that combined ease of integration with full lifecycle oversight.

DeMille added: “And with the addition of Design Envelope technology, customers can enjoy the security of performance tracking throughout the lifecycle of the pump.”
