Armstrong Fluid Technology packed 80 engineers, designers and building owners into the Honoré Room of The Palmer House Hilton Hotel July 21 in Downtown Chicago.

The pump manufacturer provided the attendees in-depth information about its Design Envelope technology which “is a demand based intelligent control solution that models equipment and system behaviour, monitors actual system conditions, and dynamically adjusts equipment operation to match system demand.”

Matt Berrell, an national sales manager with Armstrong, oversaw the “Challenging the Traditional Approach to Pump Selection and Control” which laid out that 40% of total United States energy usage comes from buildings, 32% from industry and 28% from transportation.

Armstrong announces enhancements to its Astro 2 series of Wet-Rotor Circulators

Armstrong Fluid Technology has announced two new enhancements to its Astro wet-rotor circulators that include a larger wiring box for easier access and faster wiring on the 220, 225, 230 and 250 Series circulators.

This larger 3” x 4.25” box includes a threaded connection to accept commercially available ½” NPT electrical connectors directly. The identical wiring box is also used on larger capacity Astro models.

ELCO UK Lines up with a strong back four

ELCO UK has supplied four R3604 gas-fired condensing boilers to Armstrong Fluid Technology, as part of a 4,000kW low temperature hot water (LTHW) packaged plant room. The containerised system has been installed at Chelsea FC’s training ground in Cobham, serving the under pitch heating coils.

The floor standing R3604 boilers were specified by Richard Jackson, Senior Mechanical Engineer at the Anslow Partnership. Commenting on the project and ELCO UK, he said: “Chelsea FC has a policy to keep energy use to a minimum and is very conscious of the environment, so the R3604 boilers were chosen because of their high efficiency and class-leading low NOx levels.
