Armstrong Fluid Technology is hosting two conferences this month (November) focusing on the latest energy saving HVAC approaches for the UK’s city buildings.

The events are scheduled for:

London: November 3rd, 2016, 12pm – 5pm, Canada House, 5 Trafalgar Square SW1Y 5BJ (in partnership with the High Commission of Canada).

Manchester: November 8, 2016, 12pm – 5pm, Etihad Stadium, Ashton New Road, Manchester M11 3FF.

Energy savings at office complex

When a major commercial building in the centre of Birmingham needed to refurbish the site’s HVAC pumping system, Armstrong Fluid Technology came up with an alternative solution which reduced energy consumption and improved efficiency.

The Axis office complex occupies a 178,000 sq. ft site close to Broad Street and Birmingham New Street Station. The 11-storey building has recently undergone a major HVAC refurbishment and Armstrong Fluid Technology was asked to provide a proposal for the project. The existing pumps, which were fixed speed end suction models, were reaching the end of their useful life.

In 2011, van der Weerd became the first non-family member to lead the company. Before joining Armstrong, he spent almost five years as president of Belimo’s American operations. He previously was with Carrier Corp. for 16 years in general management positions in Europe, Asia and the United States.
