Rocking with Santa, an event to close the 15th annual toy drive in Ken-Ton, served the largest number of families in its history.
More than 150 families were able to go home with three gifts per child in addition to stocking stuffers for all, according to John White, who has run the event since it began.
He said the workers were great and the community is unbelievable in the way it gets behind the event, from the Chamber of Commerce, North Tonawanda National Honor Society, Elks Lodge and Dave Bielski (All State), to the Exchange Club of the Tonawandas.
Additionally, White said the donations from Dollar General were heartwarming as well as those from individuals and groups in the community, such as Urban Paint, Armstrong Pumps, the Schoelermans, the Butler Mitchell Alumni, Hackers Golf, Premier Consulting, Knights of Columbus 413 and Elks Lodge.
Without the community behind them,
White said the total of nearly 3,000 toys would never have been reached.
