An important district heating scheme in Sheffield, which generates heat and energy from waste wood, has come to fruition with the help of an integrated packaged pump solution from Armstrong Fluid Technology.

The pump solution incorporates six large Armstrong 4300 Series variable speed pumps with built-in inverters, integrated with Armstrong’s IPS 4000 pump controller, which optimises operation of all 6 pumps to minimise energy consumption.

Controller cuts costs and boosts performance

A new pump controller has been launched by Armstrong Fluid Technology.

Developers of the IPS 4000 say pump performance will be improved while it presents opportunities for energy savings in both new build projects and refurbishments as capacity is automatically matched with changing building demand.
Designed to control multiple secondary pumps for HVAC systems in both heating and cooling applications, the IPS 4000 can control up to six variable speed pumps in parallel or standby configurations covering up to 12 zones.
